Transformed!

We watched an awesome movie over the weekend.  It’s one that’s going on my buy list, so you know I really liked it because I’m rather a cheapskate when it comes to buying movies – unless it’s kids movies that are going to be watched over and over again.  Once Darc’s seen a movie, he could probably recite the entire script to me, whereas I can’t remember if I actually saw it or only thought I did.  I have a notoriously bad memory for movies and books.  I am also notoriously cheap.  I am not the impulse spender in the family.  *cough*  So when I say we’re buying a movie, I must think it’s a damn good movie.  :D

And you’ll never guess which movie has gone on my list!  Ready?

Transformers!

I was completely blown away!  I was expecting pretty much a kids movie, something lame and ho-hum.  My husband thought it would be fun for the kids to see, since they like robots.  Not a kids movie this!  Well, I mean it’s a kids movie, but it’s a kick ass kids movie!  The graphics were unbelievable!  The fight scenes were spectacular, and you know I was cheering when our military planes were taking off!  The acting was pretty good, and did I mention the graphics were awesome?  Awesome!!  I didn’t realize how into the movie I was until I cried, “OUCH!” when the poor kid flipped over on his bike.  I think I startled my Beloved a bit too with that one.  ;)   I don’t think he was expecting me to like it as much as I did, but as soon as it was over I said, “We’re buying this one!”  I don’t know how familiar he was with the story but I know he did read some comics as a youngster.  Right now, the movie is still in the free section of our cable service and the kids and I watched it again last night after daddy went to bed.  Yeah, it’s a keeper.  :)

And one of the hero robots – Autobots – is a Camaro.  Does that rock or what?!  Yeah, I know, BumbleBee’s not a ‘60’s Camaro, but still!  He’s a Camaro!

And guess what I found out?  There’s another one coming out next summer!  Woo!  That rocks!

I guess I’ve been “Transformed!”  LOL  If you haven’t seen this yet, GO!

Transformers 2007

Transformers 2009

(Yes, I know I’m a year behind.  That’s pretty much my speed.  We don’t go to theaters so we have to wait until things come out on cable, and I’m fine with that.  It means I can watch them when I want, in the comfort of my own home, and can pause if I need to.  :) )
