It’s a very special Tootsies edition this week. Can you guess why? That’s right! It’s the birthday of the United States Marine Corps! The Few, and The Proud. Happy 234th Marines! Semper Fi and most especially, thank you. *salute*
So in honor of the awesome men and women who serve in our Marines, here are some examples of the footwear they wear, including dress shoes. Hey, mama wears combat boots and is damn proud! And I am proud of all the mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, sisters and brothers everywhere who serve.
The Marines’ Hymn
From the halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli,
We fight our country’s battles in the air, on land and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom, and to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title of United States Marine.

Yes they are. I love the military, and living not too far from a Naval base means I get to see the guys around from time to time. Always a treat.

Thank you for that post Ness. The men and women of the U.S. Marine Corps have truly been the unseen (by most) heros of America for centuries.
234 years, we owe them our very existence. I am one grateful American.

As a Canadian I am also grateful for the American armed forces. It’s not like Canada could do much without the help of the U.S.A.! So, thanks.
