It was a lovely day today!  We actually got above freezing, close to 40, woohoo!  Now that’s what we call a heat wave ‘round these parts, lol. 

I spent some time putting together the kids Easter baskets.  I think I got too much candy.

They won’t mind.

Monday

Nice.  Quiet.  Relaxing.  Those are words I’d use to describe our weekend.  I spent a good chunk of time “portioning.”  I’ve gotten into the habit of putting almost all the food we eat into individually sized portions.  When the kids want a snack or cereal, it’s all ready for them to just grab and go.  Same thing with lunches for Darc.  A little bit of time spent in prep work leads to a lot of time saved during the week.  Seriously, it takes me maybe 15 seconds to put his lunch together before I go to bed. 

I’d have made a good boy scout, lol, the way I try to always be prepared for things. 

How about you?  Do you plan ahead and prepare for things or are you a “wing it” type?

Thursday

The refrigerated stuff is put away, and so is the freezer stuff.  Thought I’d take a little break before I put away everything else and start dinner. 

So how are you? 

Late afternoon 03-21-13.  It’s lovely today!  And not bad, temperature-wise, we’re sitting at a balmy 31, just below freezing.  Believe you me, there are lots of people running around in shorts today.  Not me, of course, but lots of the natives around here do that. 

Some guy I saw while I was waiting in the car for Darc to come out of a store, a couple Januarys ago. 

New WLW Plug-in

Oh my gosh, this is the coolest plug-in for Windows Live Writer! 

You know how much I love my beloved Live Writer.  I don’t blog without it.  I’m not sure I’d even know how to use the WordPress post editor anymore.  Live Writer can do pretty much everything the WP Editor can, except it does it all offline from your desktop.  You can tweak all kinds of things from Live Writer, including your pages, as well as your posts.  Best stand-alone blog editor EVER. 

I went to their website to see if there was anything new.  And I found this:

Insert pictures from your phone directly into a Windows Live Writer. Skip the hassle of USB cables, Bluetooth, e-mail, picture synchronization, or using external services like Dropbox or Skydrive. The plugin displays a one-time QR code. After scanning the code with your phone you are brought to a web site that allows you to choose a picture from your phone. The picture is then relayed back to Windows Live Writer. This entire process takes seconds.

This makes getting a picture from my phone to Windows Live Writer SO much easier and faster! 

I’ve used the USB cable to transfer pics from my phone to my computer.  I’ve also uploaded pics directly to WP from my phone to save as a draft and then downloaded them back to WLW to tweak them and write my posts.  Yes, being able to post from your phone or tablet is amazing, but who can type on those little keys?  Not me.  Besides, I’m at home with a full sized keyboard and screen, not out and about with just my phone for a blogging tool.  For me, phone blogging is pretty much a “for emergencies only” kind of thing and honestly, how often is that?  Right. 

I love this.  Live Writer and my phone pics, married at last!

03-20-13.  A gorgeous day for the first day of Spring!  Also flipping cold!  Single digits this morning and we won’t get up to 20, most likely. 

Tuesday

Not a whole lot to say today – yes, I know that’s not any different than any other day, ha!  There’s a reason for that, dontcha know! 

Anyway, I’ve got my fingers in a few pies today so I haven’t had much of a chance to sit down and post, but I did want to at least get up today’s midday picture.  It’s been beautifully sunny today, not a cloud in the sky – that I can see from my window.  It is a bit on the cold side, we haven’t gotten up to 30, but it’s nice looking out there.

Haha!  Well, kitty there might be into the booze, but this American girl of some Irish ancestry has a crave on for a Shamrock Shake.  I didn’t have one last year because we’d recently changed our eating lifestyle and I was afraid if I cheated, I’d be a goner.  This year, I know I’ll be fine and can indulge a meal without weakening my willpower. 

Today is a good day.  I can’t believe I even got all the mattresses rotated before noon!  The weather is nice, the groceries are being put away, and the IRS has been nice to me.  God is good, praise Him.

Midday 03-13-13  Look at that blue sky!  Isn’t it pretty?    It’s a great day, for more than just the weather. 

Vacation

It’s officially the 1st day of school vacation for me and the kids.  Yay!  So far they’ve been playing and eating, and I’ve been catching up with my Reader.  And housework, there is always housework! 

Now that I have a bit of free time, if you can call it that, I can address some household projects I’ve had my eye on.  Spring is coming, after all, and those cleaning tasks are just begging to get done.  Closets and cupboards and shelves, oh my!  LOL 

This past weekend was just play time though.  Time to do nothing but relax.  No time constraints, no plans, no pressures.  For even vacations bring their own versions of responsibilities so I’m geared up now.
