Chicago Sucks, unless you’re a criminal

Got a rap sheet? Step right up  (Thanks to Chicago Hires Criminals to be Police by Dr. John Lott)

I read the above article.  There were a couple of interesting quotes, to me.

“They’re among dozens of people restored to the Chicago Police Department’s hiring list after they were found unfit to become cops.”

“The Human Resources Board, made up of three members appointed by Mayor Daley, acknowledged there is no legal reason for it to hear appeals from police applicants.”

It’s no secret that the Chicago Police Dept. has a BAD reputation.  Now I read that they have a practice of hiring people who were deemed by other police departments to be unfit to serve as cops.  But the Daley appointed board said for the Chicago Police Dept. to put them back on the hiring lists.  And the Daley appointed board also said there was no legal reason for it to even hear appeals from application rejects.  Why would Daley appoint a board that makes it okay for the police department to hire criminals?  Why would this Human Resources Board TELL the CPD to hire these people?  The situation begs a lot of interesting questions, doesn’t it?  I mean really, why hire criminals?  Unless it’s easier to pay them off to leave your friends alone.  Easier to pay them off to look the other way.  I mean, they’re already criminals, so how hard would it be to make them shut up if you, as a city official, tell them to forget they saw something?  I’m just speculating here, but seriously, what the hell?  How does this kind of crap happen in Chicago, hmm, Richie?  Is the CPD there to cover for YOU or to serve and protect the people of Chicago?

Chicagoans, there’s a HUGE rat in the city, and how bad does it have to smell before you start doing something about it?  How many charges of police corruption are you going to put up with?  How many people have complained of being beaten by a cop, and yet nothing was done?  How many people were falsely arrested in Chicago and left to rot in jail?  How long until you get sick of it all and do something to change the way things are being done?  Have you never heard the expression, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got” ??  Wake up!  For Pete’s sake, wake up!

  10. Hey… who you callin’ a criminal?????

Dude, you have GOT to try Chicago’s Home of Chicken and Waffles on MLK Drive on the south side. BEST fried chicken and waffles I have ever fuckin’ had!

You WILL be the only white person eating in the restaurant (I sure as hell was), but it wasn’t that uncomfortable because, despite the nasty looks I got from customers, the wait staff was really friendly and nice to us. It was actually kind of fun.

Just bring a bullet proof vest and your ready to go

Frank – I’m calling criminals criminals! That’s who!

Oh the best chicken I ever had in IL was at a little place called Silver Dollars out on Rt 47 in … Yorkville. Beer-battered fried chicken, HUGE pieces, and buffet on Sundays. No kevlar needed.

This is the kind of thing that makes me miss my Indiana Concealed Carry rights. Chicago seems to want to protect it’s criminals (of both the state hired and ‘gansta’ varieties) from we citizens, but who the Hell is supposed to protect us? Because in The Worst Place In The World(tm) WE’RE forced to go unarmed while the criminals -baggy pants or badge wearing- are all packing and can pick us off at will!

  13. Indy – Amen! When are they going to get it, that criminals don’t obey gun laws? Look what taking away citizen gun rights has done to London! Now they’re thinking of banning knives because knife crime is so bad. Sheesh. Alarm clock’s ringing!

DarcsFalcon- Yeah it’s really amazing how they seem to think that a guy who is already more than willing to break the law to murder, rob, rape and steal is going to be impressed by ANOTHER law that he’ll be just as willing (if not more so) to break, as using an illegal weapon helps to facillitate his other criminal endeavors? First it’s our guns in Chicago, now it’s their knives in the U.K. If this keeps up who knows what’s next? They might even be mad enough to try and regulate the power of…. the FIST! *GASP* 🙂

  15. Indy – Talk about irony, huh? 😀

FIST! You crack me up! Have you been reading about the “Obey the FIST!” remarks a few of us make around here (based on the Invader Zim series) or are you speaking of our actual fists being outlawed? Because that would not surprise me in the least. I’m waiting for the breathing tax to come along soon. Normally I’d wait with bated breath, but you, that seemed just too ironic. 😉
