Thursday Thankfulness

With the weather so nice here the last few days, we’ve had the patio door open quite a bit.  Which is great, but we haven’t had a frost yet so that means bugs.  Thank goodness for that screen door otherwise it’d be bug city in here!

No, that’s not my screen door but man how I wish it was!  Isn’t it pretty?  Nope, when I was a young girl, I never thought I’d look longingly at a screen door and sigh either but I do.  Funny how tastes change.  ;)

[And if you like it too, you can click the pic and it’ll take you right to the sales desk.  😀 ]

Bugs – specifically mosquitoes – carry so many diseases, things like West Nile, that it’s a scary thought that they might come in and wreak havoc on a family minding their own business.  Screens do an amazing job of keeping those pests out.  Something so simple and yet so conducive to a healthy family.  Who would have thought a little bit of mesh would be so wonderful?

That’s my thankfulness this week.  How about you?

  1. Growing up Florida, screens make a huge difference! This week I shall be thankful for roller skates!

I always wished I could skate, I’m so jealous! 🙂 Don’t fall down!

  2. I put in some new windows last fall and I am very thankful for the screens. This is the first summer my house hasn’t been full of flies.

I can relate! One place I lived, we had to put screens in ourselves, and until we did, fly and mosquito city! Found out both pests are also attracted by color.

  3. i had a reproduction of an old screen door made for my barn room so I could sit in there and the whole summer was there with me because I had a screen. I loved the sound of screen doors shutting when I was a kid.

That slap/bang sound? Reminds me of cool grass at twilight, ice cream cones, and giant beach towels. 🙂 No idea why either! LOL

Ooooh that’s a beautiful screen door. I hope someday we’ll buy a house so I can get a nice old looking door.

And yes, screens are an amazing thing.

I’m hoping for that too. 🙂 We can hope together.
