Wednesday Weak

But getting stronger!  I managed to make it out of the house today for the 1st time in nearly 2 weeks, woo!  We made a trip to the library to return some stuff and I made it all the way to the back where the videos are.  Progress, yay!  I mean, it was slow progress with me step-limping all the way through the library, and one kid almost mowed me down because he was running and not really paying attention to the gimpy lady giving him the terrified-dirty look, but progress is progress and I’m not knocking it.  It was nice to get out of the place, even if only for a few minutes.  And now I have new stuff to read and watch.  :)  That means I can update my Shelfari page

We’re supposed to have simply gorgeous weather for the next few days and I’m so hoping we can take the kids for a little leaf walk around the complex, pick up some cool leaves.  I want to make those “stained glass windows” things, I think they’d like that.  You know, the one with the leaves and the wax paper and the melted crayons ….

And other than that … I guess I’m off to bed.  Dreamland is a fun place to be.  🙂

How many times do your kids hit each other with leaves just so they can yell “Oh, leaf me alone!”

Hahaha! No, they’ve never done that. The maintenance service around here doesn’t leave any leaves on the ground to play in. Did you and your brother used to do that when you were little?

Oh, yeah, when we were little, sure…
We certainly did NOT do that this past Sunday.

No worries, no one is ever too old for a game of “Leaf Me Alone!” 😀

I was on Shelfari this morning. Glad you’re doing better.

Every day a little bit better. 🙂 Thank you.

I wasn’t able to update too much on Shelfari, my connection kept dropping me. I did manage to get my latest library books up though. 🙂

  3. Where the heck is this shelfari? I am not pleased to learn you are still limping around. I hope you keep that leg elevated as much as possible – and not your nose when I am giving you motherly advice. 😀

I like the fact that you and your kids share creative projects together. I know you home teach but this is one of the great benefits.

Wish we could all play leaf me alone. I feel tweeably distant.

Shelfari is a site for readers and book lovers. Basically, it’s a place where you can make a list of all the books you’ve read, are reading, or plan to read. It also has some social aspects you can participate in if you want, but that’s optional.

The leg, well, I’m almost done limping I think. I still feel a bit of tenderness on the kneecap, and a little bit of “mushiness” inside the joint, but I can stand on it now, and I don’t have the pain getting up or sitting down that I had before, so things are going well. Just a few more days and I should be back to 100%. 🙂

And I would never turn my nose up at your motherly advice. 🙂

We’ve done a few crafty things. My favorite I think was the hand-print t-shirts we made daddy for Father’s day a couple years ago. 😀

Doesn’t Leaf Me Alone sound like tons of fun? I wish I could play too!

  4. I love those stained glass things. Maybe I’ll make some for me. Since I’m pouting like a kid, I may as well act like a kid.

Weren’t they fun to make and look at?

Go get yourself a box of crayons and some coloring books. It helps, seriously. 🙂 Cheap therapy.

Sorry about the pout, I hope things get better soon.
