Present from Grandma
A kindly grandmother found buying presents for family and friends a bit much last Christmas. So she wrote out checks for all of them to put in their Christmas cards. In each card she carefully wrote, "Buy your own present" and then sent them off.
After the Christmas festivities were over, she found the checks under a pile of papers on her desk!
Everyone on her gift list had received a beautiful Christmas card from her with "Buy your own present" written inside– without the check!

Indeed! My grandmother brought envelopes with “Hanukkah Gelt” (literally Hannukah gold, a small gift of cash traditionally given to children on the holiday) for everyone in the family. I guess when you’re 91 everyone else qualifies as a kid. Anyway, she forgot to hand them out! I was lucky becuase she found mine when searching for her reading glasses in her purse when we werer both getting a ride home from my aunt.
Hahahaha! That’s so funny, Spark! I’m glad she found yours! What a cute story. 🙂
