Weekending

Well, with a cold snap upon us, we decided that going out to run any errands would not be a good idea.  Thankfully, I had all the groceries delivered and didn’t need to go anywhere.  So I spent the weekend catching up with my Reader, watching movies with my beloved and the kids, and making bone broth.

And by cold snap, I mean in the teens, with wind chills even lower.  Tomorrow we’re supposed to have wind chills near –30!  That’s just not right!  Temperatures like that should be illegal.  I’m just sayin’!

So we’re hunkered down and hatches are battened as best they can be.  I’ve got plenty of candles, and lots of broth for those chilly days ahead.

How do you react to super cold weather?  Do you “hibernate” like we do, or does it invigorate you, like a polar bear?

Today’s sunrise.  Er, I mean, cloud lightening.  😉

  1. Wow, it’s as almost as bad as the winter of 93/94! But, thankfully, we don’t have 41″ of snow on the ground and it’s not quite -75F. Still — UGH!

Yes! Still UGH! Exactly! This cold stuff is for the birds!

  2. I like the cold. I get to bundle up in many layers of clothing and go out while everyone else is too afraid to go outside. What a bunch of wusses!

You DO like the cold! A regular polar bear type. 🙂

Yep, I am a wuss when it comes to cold. What else would you expect of a CA baby? When I was a kid, I thought people would actually freeze into icicles if the temps got below 32 degrees. Imagine my fear when one day I saw the thermometer get down to 28! “We’re gonna DIE!” Shut up! I was a kid!

I like cold weather and overcast days, because it makes me feel good about staying in.

I tend to procrastinate with getting things done, and getting out. When the weather is nice, I feel bad that I missed out on the nice weather – even though there’s nothing out there for me, anyway (eye-roll). When it’s cold like this – or rainy or blizzard-y – I’m relieved of that guilt or mental pressure to go outside.

Maybe I should live in cold & cloudy Seattle. It seems the weather there would agree with me.

Oh, I know just what you mean, Aruna! Those nice days often make me feel that I should be “doing” something else, too.

LOL Seattle would probably be perfect in one sense, but maybe too depressing in another. Sadly, they seem to have a high suicide rate. Not enough sunlight!

  4. You get your groceries delivered??? Wow! I don’t mind the cold, as long as I’m not THAT cold. In other words, I stay indoors during REAL cold. Have a good week!

I do! Since I don’t have a car, and can’t go grocery shopping, I was fortunate to be able to find a delivery service in my area. 🙂

Oh yeah, we’re indoor bunnies during the super cold spells too! You have a great week too, sweet lady! *hugs*

  5. I’m a little of both. I like to venture outside all bundled up for a brief adventure, just to feel that I’ve earned my hibernation for the rest of the day.

One of the ladies in the office here is just like that too. 🙂 Me, looking outside and seeing things blowing or falling earns me my hibernation, lol. 😀
