Meet Vanessa

Would you like a cup of coffee? Piece of cake? Please, sit down, relax, get comfy. 🙂 Well now … how to condense the sum of who I think I am? For a start, how about this: Christian, American, woman, wife, mother, Conservative Republican. But I can tell you this much, set aside your preconceived notions of those things because I probably won’t fit your stereotypes. 🙂

If you would like to email me I’m at darcsfalcon (at) gmail (dot) com. I also sign on to yahoo IM service, and GoogleTalk with the “darcsfalcon” name if you’d like to chat sometime. 🙂 Also, you can find me on Twitter, here’s my page –>>@DarcsFalcon.

I’ve seen on several blogs what I call “The List.” That’s all it is, a listing of various amusing things about the blogger. One of the best I’ve seen is Stranger’s. She came up with nearly a hundred interesting things about herself! After getting “tagged”  by my friend, Sherri, I thought I’d try to put a list together.

I know this much, there are not 100 things to list about me, let alone 100 interesting things! (Trust me, you’ll see!) To get things started, I’ll copy the things from my “tag” that I used. I’ll add to that as time goes on. And please, feel free to comment!

01. I can pick up things with my toes.

02. According to my husband, I make the world’s best sandwiches. However, I think he just says this to get out of making one for himself. 😉

03. Dwight scares me! Okay, not really. I only said that to tweak him.

04. I have a secret crush on Craig Ferguson. Well, not so secret now I guess! Just, promise you won’t tell, ‘k? (Not so much anymore, sorry Craig.)

05.

06. I have given birth at home without a doctor.  More than once.  By choice.  🙂

07. Once, while getting ready for a party, I was feeling particularly confident and … naughty. So I didn’t wear any panties under my skirt. I wanted a secret that no one else would know. However, I got a flat tire on the way there, and while bending over, only slightly!, to look for the spare tire, a gust of wind came along and I ended up flashing people on the highway. Someone honked at me the same moment I felt the wind caress my backside. I’m blushing just typing about it!

08. Pepsi is my soft drink of choice.

09. I can yawn with my mouth closed.

10. Is the glass half empty or half full? Trick question. The answer is yes.

That’s sooo funny! I too can pick up things with my toes and have a secret love for Craig Ferguson. My husband thinks he’s great too.

Number 7 is a hoot. I used to reenact a movie on a stage with a group of people for various people in a movie theater years ago and spent a large percentage of the time in my bra and slip. One night when the spot light was on me my bra strap broke and I flashed most of the audience. So I guess that means we both have partially naked stories that everyone else finds funny. :o)

I myself am a Coke lady so you can have all the Pepsi’s in the world and I can have all the Cokes.

I’m so glad I stumbled onto your husbands site!

Raga

PS. I would like to see someone yawn with their mouth closed. I can’t seem to do it. LOL

Cool! Another Craig fan! I don’t live with one, so it’s nice to meet someone who is.

Lol, we unintentional flashers have to stick together! That’s a funny story, but oh my how embarrassing! What movie?

Deal on the Coke thing. And I’m so glad you found Darc’s site too!

When you yawn, just keep your lips together and relax your jaw. You’ll see. 😉

The movie was The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It feels like a lifetime ago in my teens. My teen years were very interesting needless to say.

I don’t seek to scare anyone.

I’m a sweet little kitten. Really.

I’ll take your word for it Dwight! Sherri also says you’re really a pussycat. 😉
Thank you for coming to visit my “house,” as it were. It’s really nice to see you here. 🙂

  2. Hi TimeThief! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂 Yes, I did see the “onecoolsite” page, and put that link up also when I did the “”bloggersblurt” link. I thought it still had a lot of good information. Would you prefer I remove it and only point to your “onecoolsite” blog?

  3. I’m so glad I switched to wordpress, maybe completely off the subject, but still. I definitely want to do grad school–thanks for the advice about not going to Chicago.

  4. JR – I’m so glad you switched to WP too! I think it’s loads better than Blogger. I think not moving back here is something you know in your heart. It’s hard to resist family though when they want you close – but you have to do what’s best for you, and I’m pretty sure being here isn’t it. The choices you make now will impact the rest of your life, and you don’t want to end up in the vacuum.

  7. Why thank you JR! What, in particular, made you know that? If I may ask…?

  8. Well here is why, each number is a response to your numbering system above…

First of all hospitality, in chicago? Coffee, yes please, coffee cake, of course. This is with my Chicago glasses mind you.

    1. you can pick up things with your toes, who cares

    2. Chicagoans don’t make sandwiches unless they have to there is no joy in making sandwiches as you seem to express. Chicagoans cook shit, if anything.

    3. WTF is dwight?

    4. Craig Ferguson– isn’t there enough Irish people in Chicago? If anything you would hate Craig Ferguson

5 and 6. No drugs? No painkillers? Are you crazy? A Chicagoan sees a time to legally use drugs as a blessing. No doctor? My Dad had a doctor when he was born and my grandfather paid the doctor in cash, no joke. They had so many kids the last few were “free.”

    7. Chicago women are no fun. They are boring. This would not be something they would not talk about. This would be put in the last chapter of their autobiography if they were literate.

    8. Pepsi over coke is debatable

    9. WTF are you a mutant from California, no one can do that?

    10. the glass is definitely half empty in this town

  9. JR – ROFLMAO! That’s funny!

I have to agree on #2 … #3 Dwight is a friend of mine … #4 Well I’m Irish, and Craig’s Scottish so that’s okay! 😉 … #5 Nope, no drugs or painkillers of any kind … #7 They wouldn’t talk about that? Really? Wow! … #8 No, no debate, Pepsi rules! … #9 ROFL a mutant from CA! That’s me! Cuz I CAN do that! Taught myself how to do that in school so the teacher wouldn’t know I was bored. 😉 … #10 – Well, I think the glass of this town is just simply empty, no halvsies about it!

  10. Well I can see that humor is a marital thing–you and Darc are BOTH hysterical. I’ll be back–thanks for the laugh!

LOL, how kind you are! You know, no one ever said I was funny until after I married Darc, so I blame him. 😉

Thanks for stopping by hon, I hope to see you again. 🙂

Every woman I have ever spent quality time with could pick up at least one thing with her toes. It’s a coincidence! I am not enjoying the onslaught of U.K. accents and he needs to dump the skeleton. Otherwise. I like him ok.

Maybe it’s a genetic thing with the toes. 🙂

I assume you’re talking about Ferguson when you mention UK accents? I haven’t watched his show in a few years now so I don’t know what skeleton you’re referring too.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
